Our Story

Where It All Began

Our journey began after our eldest son suffered a severe reaction to our beloved family cat, who had been part of our lives for over 12 years.

Saying goodbye to her was heartbreaking, and for a long time we believed having pets in our home simply wouldn’t be possible.

But after carefully exploring safer options, we discovered the wonderful world of small pets and eventually welcomed our very first hamster, Lilo, into our family.

Falling Down The Hamster Rabbit Hole!

Like many first time hamster owners, we started with what pet shops told us was “correct.”

But once we joined the incredible online hamster community, we quickly realised there was so much more to learn about enrichment, enclosure sizes, bedding depth, wheel sizing, foraging opportunities and creating environments that truly allow small animals to thrive.

That journey completely changed the way we cared for Lilo, and it sparked a passion that would eventually become The Litle Burrow.

Meeting Waffles

Not long after Lilo came Waffles, our sweet rescue Hamster.

Waffles taught us that every Hamster is unique. His gentle nature and funny little personality completely stole our hearts, and caring for him deepened our love for these incredible little floofs.

He reminds us every day why thoughtful, enriching care matters so much.

The Birth Of The Little Burrow

As our passion grew, so did our dream. We wanted to create a place where beautiful products, trusted advice and a genuine love for small animals could come together.

Every item we stock is something we'd happily use for our own Hamsters. If we wouldn't recommend it to Lilo or Waffles, it wont appear in our shop.

Our Promise

The Little Burrow was built on one simple promise: if we wouldn't happily use a product for our own hamsters, we won't sell it.

Every hide, forage mix, substrate, treat and accessory is carefully chosen with welfare at the heart of every decision. We believe beautiful products should never come at the expense of an animal's wellbeing.

We're incredibly selective about what earns a place on our shelves. Every product is carefully researched, quality checked and chosen not only for its safety and practicality, but for its craftsmanship, design and ability to create enriching, beautiful homes for small animals.

We spend countless hours exploring small pet care from around the world, taking inspiration from countries and creators who are leading the way in ethical enrichment and enclosure design. Our goal is to bring that same level of quality, variety and thoughtful design to the UK and beyond, making it easier for pet owners to create magical homes without compromising on welfare.

Because we believe our tiny companions deserve nothing less than the very best.

The Little Burrow Today!

Today, The Little Burrow has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined.

What began with one tiny hamster has become a carefully curated collection of beautiful, enrichment focused products, inspired by the very best ideas from around the world.

Every product is chosen with the same care and attention we'd give our own hamsters, because we believe every tiny life deserves a home that's safe, enriching and full of magic.
